Helped a Rabbit in Danger - Service - LO2
This month, as I was returning from an errand with my sister, we noticed that the landscapers were present at our house. As we were opening the front gate, one of the gentlemen pointed out that there was an infant brown rabbit that was hiding in between the garage wall and concrete foundation! At this point, I realized that he was most likely venturing out from his home, and was scared into hiding from the lawnmowers and weed whackers.
So with some quick thinking, my sister, my mother, my grandmother, and I, found a box, a towel, and other comforting amenities to make this wild animal as comfortable as possible.
About an hour of research later, and my sister and I had two items on a shopping list for this rabbit's overnight stay.
-Hay like dried foliage
-A specific type of powdered milk
Now, of course, this rabbit was nervous and most likely was very confused with his situation, so we did our best to comfort him.
At one point, he even sat with me while I read my second-semester literature reading.
The next day, we saw his mother and returned him to her. He was dubbed with the name of "Charles the Rabbit".
To conclude, I learned a lot during this experience. The challenges of taking care of an animal in need, the responsibility of helping community wildlife, and really just being a good person.
